New luxury vinyl plank flooring across an open main level, Littleton CO

Luxury vinyl plank and laminate, installed flat and tight

The fastest way to make a house feel new is to get the old carpet out and put a hard floor down. Diego handles the whole job: tear-out, haul-away, subfloor prep, the install, and the baseboards and transitions that make it look finished. Most rooms are done in a day or two.

What's included

  • Old carpet, pad, and tack strip removed and hauled away (old vinyl or laminate too)

  • Subfloor inspected, cleaned, and flattened; squeaks screwed down

  • Underlayment where the product calls for it

  • Planks laid with staggered seams and proper expansion gaps, cut clean around doorways and vents

  • Transitions at doorways and between floor types

  • Baseboards reinstalled or replaced with new, caulked and ready for paint

  • Stairs, if the job includes them

LVP or laminate?

Waterproof, so it goes in kitchens, baths, basements, and laundry rooms. Slightly softer and warmer underfoot. Wood and stone looks; wide planks are the Denver favorite. Best for whole-house jobs, basements, rentals, and pets.

Luxury vinyl plank

Water-resistant at best, so keep it out of wet rooms. Harder and closer to real wood underfoot, with very convincing grain at the higher grades. Best for bedrooms, living rooms, and offices on a budget.

Laminate

Stairs are where flooring jobs get skipped or botched. Diego does them tread by tread, with matching nosings, so the stairs match the floor instead of announcing where the carpet used to stop.

Good to know

Often, if the existing floor is flat, hard, and well attached. Carpet always comes out. Diego checks on the walk-through.

Can it go over my existing floor?

1

One room in a day. A full main level in two to four days, including tear-out and baseboards.

How long does it take?

2

Either way works. Diego can source the flooring or install what you have already bought. If he supplies it, the quote lists materials and labor as separate lines. If you are buying your own, he will tell you how much to order, including the overage for cuts, before you go to the store.

Do I get the baseboards back?

4

Your choice: reinstall the originals or replace with new. New baseboards plus a paint job is the combination that makes the whole room look new.
